One day I decided to change the world.
I woke up in the morning, I turned off the lights that were left on all night and I lighted the fireplace instead of using the heater.
I had my breakfast and I split the recyclable from the non-recyclable putting them in two different plastic bags; the recyclable in a green one and the rest in a black one.
I walked to the stores that are 5 miles away from my house and I spent a ridiculous amount of money on energy-saving and eco-friendly products for my house and not only.
Also, I decided to become a vegetarian because I want to fight animal cruelty and I filled my fridge with veggies and fruits.
When the day came to an end, I turned the lights off and I fell asleep with a big smile on my face because I felt that I actually did something important.
The next day, the sunbeams flirted with my eyelids and eventually I woke up wearing the exact same smile as yesterday night. I wore my slippers went outside in my pj’s and I faced the sun with pride…the look of the sun warmed my heart fighting the icy cold which was struggling to stop it…
I folded my hands and had a look around me…same trees, same cig bottoms on the ground, same smell in the air…even people’s faces looked the same…walking alone, ignorant and icy fitting with the climate_
I may haven’t changed the world…One person cannot make the difference! I’m just a point in the circle of eternity and so is my life. Apart from that though…nothing can take away that smile…
